Strokkur Miracle

Photobucket

© Eni Turkeshi Photography

Most of you might have heard of the famous Icelandic geysirs. They are located on the country's south west part. It's there that you can experience the magic of fabulous steam rising from the hot springs, vent and streams found all over this area.

Actually , all of the hot springs world wide are called due to the great Geysir located here. It's been told that Geysir has been erupting since the early 14th century up to the early days of 20th century. It hasn't been active since then.

According to some ,Geysir stopped because lots of rocks has been threw to it to set it off. Some say , it just stopped .
But when it used to erupt ; it's been told it used to go 150-200 feet high.

It was a bit frightening to visit a geysir that you might never know if it's going to be active or not anymore. But it was worth of it:)

Sure Geysir has a little twin:) called Strokkur.
Strokkur of course is not as big as Geysir used to be and when it erupts the steaming water goes 60-100 feet high.It happened once in 5-10 minutes.

The area of geysir was surrounded and you couldn't get closer than that .
Actually , it wouldn't be wise:)

I sure was thankful to my best friend (my camera;) that helped me get every single second , when it started to erupt.
I just wish i had a tripod by myside.Because you always need extra light in Iceland during winter time;) , plus i was so excited to watch it myself, so couldn't concentrate much , so you guys are going to accept this trembling photos ;)

But you can see from the photos , the amazing moment it gets ready to erupt and all it's phases. The first moment can be seen on the picture on top.
The other photos show the continuous moments.

It was really an amazing experience.
I never thought it could be real , until i saw it myself:) I was 30 metres close to it:)

Also what i loved else , was the perfect nature harmony and the combination of the places full of snow & hot springs with boiling water. It's truly incredible to see these both together.
I think it's a better idea to visit geysirs during winter time;)

Salt Lake - A virgin beauty

Photobucket

The Salt Lake is one of my most favourite places in Turkey. It's located between the Ankara,Nigde & Konya cities and with its 7414.40 km2 area is one of the biggest lakes of Turkey.
The lake's area and depth of water has had an enormous 60% reduce the last 18 years.
All of this because of the global warming. It's said that this lake will be totally run dry and dissipate in a short period such as 7 years:(
Because of its wide area and the increasing water surface during the winter , this lake has become a great nest for many different bird types such as flamingos etc...Other bird types living there are :
(Glareola prantincola), (Tadorna tadorna), (Tadorna ferruginea), (Anas crecca), (Recurvirostra avocetta), (Burhinus oedicnemus) , (Larus sp.)
This lake is the biggest salt supplyer to the country.

What I love of this lake , is the amazing picturesque view it has. It's maybe because of its wide, shallow, whitish area that it looks always so different, weird, magic, scary sometimes and so very artistic.
I think it was before 8 years ago when I firstly saw this lake.It was winter time and it was all surrounded by snow..It looked a bit scary and you always had the feeling you were lost in this white, frozen world.
I remember seeing a lone tree in the middle of the lake .It was a view I'll could never forget.Like the symbol of stubbornness and vulnerability at the same time!!
This year I coudn't visit it so close , but could shot some photos of it from far away .The second picture doens't belong to the Lake but is very close to it and is located in the opposite site.
We were travelling to Cappadocia and the bus had to stop at the station close to the lake so I had the chance to re-experience this fabulous atmosphere.
It was 6.30 a.m and everything was so quiet and peaceful .The only sound you could hear ,was that of the fresh wind, caressing your face..You could maybe perceive it even from the photos..It was quite surreal..

I'll be back with more travel writings guys..cheers

Udhetim ne Budva

Photobucket

Gjate kohes se qendrimit tim ne Shqiperi , bera ç'bera dhe i ngjesha dhe nja 2 dite udhetimi ne Budva/Mal te zi se bashku me familjen time.Kisha kohe qe doja te shkoja sepse kisha degjuar shume per Budven , por asnjehere nuk qeme bere mbare per te ikur kur isha ne Shqiperi.Kete here , sikunder ndenja me shume , thashe qe do ishte gjynah ta humbisja serish rastin ndaj , nje hop , e planifikuam dhe u nisem.

Rruga kaloi shume bukur.

U nisem serish.
Me beri pershtypje se rruges pashe shume peme shegesh si dhe shegesh te egra.Nuk e dija se rriteshin ka shume!
Me ne fund hyme ne kufirin malazez.Qe ne hyrje vihet re ndryshimi i rruges dhe pastertia e rregulli ne pergjithesi.
Arrijme ne Budva.Budva eshte nje qytet i vogel.

Kjo zone eshte me plot kuptimin e fjales piktoreske.
Kishin veçse nje handikap : Nuk para flisnin anglisht.Kesisoj u detyruam te flisnim pak tarzançe.
Nje element tjeter interesant ishte treni qe kalonte neper qytetin e ri dhe pjesen e vjeter te Budves .
Dhe sa i perket fushes se kulinarise , mund te them me plot gojen se , atyre i pelqen te hane dhe shume fare madje.Me beri pershtypje filxhani i stermadh i makiatos , filxhan nga i cili dilnin rahat fare 3 makiato ne Shqiperi:)
Patem dhe mundesine te rastisim ne nje dasem malazeze, qe behej ne nje godine aty afer shtepise qe kishim marre me qera.
Nuk thone kot qe ballkanasit ngjajne me njer tjetrin:) E njejta rremuje , i njejti terbim tip "nje martohet , 100 terbohen"..Gjalleria,muzika,zhurmat,pispillosja,lodrimi po njesoj:)

Jua rekomandoj miq!Ju vura disa foto nga udhetimi im ne Budva shpresoj t'ju pelqejne.

A bunch of Tirana

Photobucket

Here there are some photos from my last Albania visit.I shot approximately 1000 photos(Budva photos included..to be continued on next days).
Were them enough? No:))
I regret not shoting hundred of other photos because I couldn't resist curious looks .Now I get angry with my self for not insisting to shot what I liked and caring about them.Anyway , I'll bear it in mind for the next time.:)
And ah , ah, I'm deprived from going out with my sister from now on.
She said she'd never go out with me , as she got so bored of my "-Hold a minute.I can't lose this one!" pleads and my neverending stops.
My migrant albo friends, hope you enjoy this one!

Bus trip : Cakes,coffee and D.class movies

Photobucket

Sunday I had to go to Ankara, so I decided to go by bus , as I like travelling by bus .Well , as a matter of fact , I'm afraid of plane trips , I have travelled several times , but I still haven't managed not to be stressed while being in a plane.
Anyway , the trip would last 6 hours so I thought it might be better to take a book by myside.
As soon as the journey started , the hostess started to offer us , cakes, coffee and other beverages as well. She kept doing this approximately all the time.I was surprsed to see such a thing , because even in the plane you can't get such a service. You know the meals are getting smaller each time at the planes.
As I wrote on my last post , I was feeling so sleepy so I decided to have some coffee .I was just to read my book when I heard some awful voices. They came from the movie. It was a movie about some magicians.I don't know , should I add it was a dreadful movie? That's why B.class would be too positive for it:)
I remember my last time when I travelled , it was a bad movie playing too.
I think some music would do better:)
Anyway , I got some great photos from the bus , it had snowed somewhere (I don't know where we was at the moment) and looked really enchaunting.
I enjoy travelling by bus, reading while traveling and meditation. And the view was really terrific , so I had a great time.
I guess I'll go there often as long as my friend will be there...
