My food blog Yummania and my photos get published on TWGE art zine

My food blog Yummania has been published on TWGE art zine on the `flower issue`.This is the first time Yummania gets published ,apart from my other publications on my photography.TWGE a.k.a THE WORLD THROUGH GREEN EYES it`s a very cute and beautiful zine on nature, ecology and environment.
I gave an interview about my blog Yummania, where i shared my thoughts on how this blog came out, on food ,some recipes and some thoughts about photography and the way i use flowers and veggies in it as well:) So it was a multidisciplinary interview i`d say:)

Anthotype print on cloth

 Following the previous experiments :), i decided to use my leftovers of geranium petals juice to try this time the anthotype on cloth:)



I had just a small amount of leftovers , so i randomly cut a small piece of raw cloth i found and poured the left juice on it.I let it dry for some minutes. Then i put a leave on it and decided to position it on the balcony marble, considering it as the best place to get a lot of sun.I sticked the leave to the cloth and the cloth to the marble with a transparent tape .

I could see the juice color start to bleach since the first day , but decided to give it a longer time.And after 2 days of exposure , i got the image you can see in the last picture:)
Needless to say i`m loving anthotypes, which makes me now whine so much on the very hot weather of Albania:)

I was inspired from my anthotype experiments to  invent this one:) I was amazed of the great colorful juices profited from the plants, fruits and veggies.So i decided to use them for handcoloring of some of my  altprocess prints.
I was inspired by the result and will try more in the future.
Meanwhile i`ll let you with the passionate world of colors :)

My first anthotype:)

Anthotype is an old alternative printing technique from the 19th century.This process was originally invented by Sir John Herschel in 1842. An emulsion is made from crushed flower petals or any other light-sensitive plant, fruit or vegetable. A coated sheet of paper is then dried, exposed to direct full sun-light until the image is bleached out.read more about them here
I decided to make a photogram of 2 leaves , since i didn`t have a positive image and also lacked a contact print frame.

Normally you need a contact printing frame for this but i didn`t have it so i tried sticking the paper with emulsion and leaves to a transparent tape ;)
 Of course it`s not the best solution to use transparent tape cause you might tear a lot of the texture apart.But it`s always good to try:)

I used an  emulsion profited from geranium petals and some arugula leaves .
Normally i`d never heard of arugula leaves to have been used for such purpose , but i lacked spinach , so i tried these:) It`s always good to try and find out:)
 I exposed it only for 9 hours [thanks to the crazy hot Tirana sun:)] , which is really very fast compared to other people having had to wait for weeks and months to get an anthotype:)

i`m looking forward to try more and this time on film:) stay tunned:)

Featured Artist in Saccades Project ;)

I`m very proud to be one of the featured artists of the splendid   Saccades Project, of which i`ve been a fan since last year.
The project is created by  Courtney Eldridge , a novelist who is studying artists and collaborating with them as part of the new story she is writing.
Courtney is one of the sweetest people i`ve ever got the chance to collaborate with. 
I`m impressed by her dedication to her work , her kindness and her positiveness.
I`m really happy to be a part of her inspiring project .

Anatomy of missing II

 

If i squint i see you
when i don`t my eyes reflect your image
When inhaling i smell your aura
sometimes i don`t breathe so I can store
your scent inside me for longer
My lips keep on searching this warm , volatile texture of your lips
But it`s always tear molecules that
they abruptly are crashed into...
My limbs...
My cold cold limbs feel like numbed
after long time embracing emptiness
My mind...
that is the cheeriest one amongst them
It`s the holder of the memories
so it can still float on happy moods

and after all i think that
heaven is only left in my mind...

My blown glass experience:)

 I adored working with glass :) This was done in December 2010, with the help of my glass teacher James Adam Mowen, a very helpful and inspiring teacher and glass artist..
I will be sharing more of my glass experiences later on;)
This is my first and alas last blown glass experience so far.If you have the chance try it!
